Alba is the Italian Capital of Contemporary Art 2027 with the project “The Wind Factories” — from the title of two paintings by Alba-born artist Pinot Gallizio. The city and the Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato territory will host a year of exhibitions and events spread across the region, to turn contemporary art into public energy, connection, and participation.

In 2027, Alba will extend the its title to municipalities across the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato territory to develop and host outstanding artistic projects, creating a wider network dedicated to contemporary art.
Circuito Extra (Extra Circuit) is a region-wide visual arts programme open to associations, independent spaces, schools, foundations, galleries, businesses, groups and individual applicants.
Alba Italian Capital of Contemporary Art 2027 is a project managed by the Municipality of Alba, the association "Le fabbriche del vento per Alba Capitale italiana dell'arte contemporanea" (The Wind Factories for Alba Italian Capital of Contemporary Art) – chaired by Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo with artistic direction by Nicolas Ballario – and a series of partner and supporters of the project.
